"Spiced Pineapple Cocktail"

Spiced Pineapple Cocktail

I saw a fabulous beverage in the Martha Stewart magazine and thought it would be the perfect cocktail as we wait for Spring to arrive.  I'm venturing south to Florida this week and look forward to sharing a variety of stories, photos, beverages and sites through the winter season.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup lime juice (approx. 3 limes)
3 T. honey
1 cup pineapple juice
2 cups fresh/frozen pineapple chunks
1/4 cup triple sec
1/3 cup tequile
2 cups ice
 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

Add top seven ingredients to a blender and mix.  Then combine chili powder, sugar and salt in a small bowl.  Moisten the rim of four glasses with a lime wedge.  Coat the glass rims in the powder mixture.  Divide blender mixture into glasses and garnish with a lime.  It's perky and quite enjoyable !

Cheers !

"Sidecar" Cocktail Recipe

Featured Cocktail of the Week

"Sidecar"

This cocktail recipe, known to have originated around WWI is most certainly making a comeback.  The sweetness of sugar and tartness of lemon is combined with smooth cognac or brandy.  So easy to make at home with just three ingredients.  Have fun and let me know how you like it.

Recipe:
  • 1.5 oz of Cognac (or Brandy)
  • 1 oz of Triple Sec (or Cointreau)
  • 1/2 oz of fresh Lemon Juice
Pour ingredients  into a shaker 3/4 full of ice.  Shake until cold and frosty.  Moisten the rim of a cocktail glass with lemon then coat the edge of glass with sugar.  Strain the contents of shaker into the glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

 Cheers !
