Take Flight from Nantucket

Nantucket from the sky!  Experience this take off in a 9 passenger plane from Nantucket Airport heading out over the beaches on the southern shore of Nantucket Island.  Also, notice Air Force 2 parked nearby picking up Vice President Biden.

Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum

Nantucket's Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum is definitely worth a visit. Over 700 shipwrecks have occured in waters surrounding Nantucket.  This museum features over 5,000 objects from shipwrecks and lifesaving equipment.  Walk through at your leisure or take advantage of a complimentary small group tour.  A fabulous museum situated in a gorgeous setting off of Polpis Road.

November Flowers

As December quickly comes upon us and a cold spell expected, I believe this is the last we'll see of flowers this year.

As I write, our "fast" ferries have cancelled for the day due to heavy winds. The white caps are dancing on the ocean, the winds are howling and the temperature is dropping.  Perfect weather for Christmas Stroll next week.

Vice President Biden visits Nantucket

Vice President Biden arrived on Nantucket last evening to enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The  Air Force landed Monday and Tuesday bringing necessary equipment for Vice President Biden's anticipated visit. VP Biden is actually quite accessible.  He typically visits the local stores and attends holiday events.  Although it is apparent that secret service are all about, he seems to enjoy talking with everyone.

Cheers !

Bike Ride

Nantucket is creating a new bike path along Hummuck Pond Road that will stretch to Cisco Beach.  It's a great ride and will definitely be alot safer for bicylists during tourist season.
This goat isn't stupid - she rests against the cow for warmth.
This one must be a loner :(
This hawk quickly dove to attack a bird's nest after I stopped to catch him on film.
I just realized that the wind was going to make this a tough ride back home.
Yeah !  Made it to the shore.

Gardiner's Compass on Nantucket

How far away are you from Nantucket?
H. Marshall Gardiner came to Nantucket in 1910 and opened a photography shop.  In 1936 he designed this mural based on a compass.  Gardiner's Compass is located in down town Nantucket.

Kiel James Patrick

Kiel James Patrick is a unique company that I have absolutely fallen in love with. They have such a variety of creative and stylish accessories. Handbags, belts, earrings and the list goes on and on!  I'm excited to let you know that they just introduced their new line of bracelets, the Vickers Bow Collection.

My two favorites are the Campton Cupboard ...

and the Dapper Huey. All girls love ribbons and bows !

Surrendered to the Will of the Wind

Nor'easter that just passed through Nantucket felt like it brought higher winds then Hurricane Sandy.  Nature took its course, unfortunately.

This unfortunate sailboat ended up on the beach by Washington Street in the Nantucket Harbor.

Bartlett's Farm

Bartlett's Farm is Nantucket's oldest family owned farm where fresh fruits and vegetables are always available. Their tomatoes are the best !!  From baked goods and wine to flowers and plants, they have it all.  Bartlett's Farm is one of my favorite places to visit on island.

Cheers !
