Where is Nantucket?

Nantucket Island is about 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  It's not the easiest place to get to but once you arrive it's as if you're a world away.  Many islanders travel on and off the island by ferry to Cape Cod or by a little "puddle jumper".  The passenger ferry takes one hour, the auto ferry takes 2.15 hours and the flight is just about 15 minutes.  Of course, flights are available to Boston and and other destinations when in season, but as you can imagine, they're pretty costly.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nantucket will give you a little demographic information
about Nantucket, Island

Yikes!  Over $100 to fill my gas tank.

Is it expensive to visit and live here?  Yes it is.  But hey, it makes everything seem like such a deal when not on island.

National Geographic named Nantucket as the #1 Best Island so take a look and see what you think.   This is my favorite beach - Miacomet Beach on the south side of the island.
